Avanti has long maintained a focus on the acquisition of strategically located residential, commercial, and industrial land in infill locations and growth corridors of major US cities. Avanti is interested in parcels that, based on current growth patterns, are projected to be absorbed for development over the next three to eight years.
Avanti’s target markets are growing substantially faster than the US averages in both percentage and absolute terms. The steady population growth in these markets, and their resultant economic vibrancy, indicates long-term demand for housing, and by extension, residential and commercial land.
While foreclosures led to distressed sales and, therefore, price declines, they did not increase housing supply. Today’s new housing inventory is at its lowest point since the 1960s and housing starts are running well below the volume needed to support population growth.
